AA: $3880.00 carrier fees?
SFO-MAD bz class (1 stop each): any idea why these fees are so high? Or is this normal?

British Airways carrier charges are extremely high.

Normal. On a cash ticket, you need only concern yourself with the ticket's total price.

$3880 would seem very high for 1 person. AA's business class surcharge in business class seems to be $970 one way , so $1940 r/t

If this is for 2 people, then $3880 would seem right, but far too high for 1 person

Route and airlines? Number of passengers?
Do you have a "stop"(<24hrs) in LHR as opposed to a LHR transit (<24hr)? If more than 24hrs UK APD payable.

APD,is not a carrier fee though and would be listed as a tax
